Chief Financial Officer

Steven Johnson is Chief Financial Officer of Opes Group and brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across financial services, asset management and investment operations.

Prior to joining Opes, Steven spent more than a decade with EFG Asset Management, where he held a number of senior leadership positions, including Managing Director, Global Head of Operations and Chairman of New Capital Funds. His responsibilities included oversight of approximately $9 billion in assets under management and leadership across governance, operations, risk, compliance, finance and regulatory change in multiple international jurisdictions.

Steven has extensive experience in business transformation, M&A integration, fund structures, regulatory governance and institutional operating models, with experience across the UK, Europe and Asia.

At Opes Group, Steven leads the Group’s financial strategy, governance and financial infrastructure, supporting capital allocation, investment assessment and the disciplined development of the Group’s operating platforms and strategic ventures.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Southampton, an ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business and the CISI Investment Advice Diploma.
